FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Why are classes organised into Stages?

The Actor’s Process: Immediate Acting Course is divided into three Stages – each one running one to ten weeks, depending upon the needs for each particular Stage. They are delivered via online lecture presentations, small class Q&A sessions, and 1-to-1  tutorials, as well as live, in-person intensive workshops. This allows participants to commit to a limited time frame at a limited cost with the greatest flexibility while also ensuring that each class has a quorum of participants. This flexibility allows the actor to progress step-by-step from one Stage to the next uninterrupted, or, when work or life circumstances come into play, opt out of a particular Stage while still having the option to pick up where they left off  in the next cycle of classes.

  • Is everyone in the class at the same Stage?

Not necessarily. The structure and limited size of the classes allows participants to move at their own pace. So, for example, there may be one group of participants working on material from  one Stage, while another group of participants are working on material from another Stage. However,  each cycle of classes are either Scene Study based or are Meisner Intensive based. This is due to the nature of the work we will engage with. There may also be opportunities to extend the number of sessions for a Stage if necessary and at the agreement of both the participants and the tutor.

  • How does the selection of my scene partner and scene work?

We will negotiate partnerships for Stage One: The Meisner Intensive Workshop at the end of the first session. In Stage Two and Three, the acting tutor will match you with a partner and scene when we meet for the first Q&A session. You are also welcome to recommend a scene and/or scene partner if you wish.

  • I'm interested in attending your classes. Can I audit a session first to see if the course is suitable for me?

Potential candidates for future Actor’s Process: Immediate Acting Technique classes are permitted to audit a regularly scheduled class before deciding to join in the next cycle of classes. Auditing a class allows you to observe but not participate. To audit one of our classes, the cost is £30.

  • What happens if the course I am interested in is full?

All classes are limited in size so that maximum attention is paid to participating students giving them the best opportunity to learn and succeed. As a result, if a class is already full, you may need to be placed on a waiting list. You can then join once an opening becomes available.
